Common questions

What is the silver nisab today?

612.36 grams of silver, which is ₹1,22,411 at today's rate of ₹199.90 per gram.

Why is the silver nisab so much lower than gold?

Both were set by the Prophet ﷺ — 200 dirhams of silver and 20 dinars of gold. Silver has fallen in value relative to gold, so the silver threshold is now much lower.
